Hawkeye #15 cover David Aja

This looks awesome.

Hawkeye #15 is a return to all the things that make this comic great. David Aja is back on art. Clint Barton is back at center stage (sorry Kate Bishop, we love you too, but… you know). And the drama has picked up, as the creepy clown Kazu and his band of tracksuit Draculas make their final play to get their hands on Clint’s apartment building.

First Guardians of the Galaxy trailer is all kinds of… something

February 20, 2014 Leave a comment

So I’m pretty damn busy this week and won’t have a comic review up until tomorrow.

But in the mean time, how about that Guardians of the Galaxy trailer?

Seen it yet?

Check it out.

Yeah, that’s Chris Pratt, a.k.a. Star Lord, a.k.a. Andy from Parks and Rec, sporting a six-pack.

And after seeing the Guardians translated to film for the first time, I still don’t know what to think.

Rocket Raccoon and Groot look fantastic. So does Zoe Saldana’s Gamora. Dave Bautista’s Drax is all muscle, but it’s Pratt’s Star Lord – the blond-locked bro of the Marvel galactic universe – that remains a question mark. Can he carry a movie?

Or maybe the better question: can the movie fit Pratt’s slightly naive, slightly dimwitted approach to humour?

Marvel’s got the visuals down. Outer space looks great. But that was never the concern. It’s all going to be a matter of tone, and that’s an issue we won’t see resolved until the film actually hits.
